We are looking for a full-time, dynamic and dedicated shift lead!
We’re growing! Currently, we re planning to expand our business. We’re proud of our Italian heritage, and we love gelato. We can’t wait to share it with our larger Portland Metro community. We collaborate with farmers and food folks and plan to work more in the community through educational programs. We are dedicated to maintaining a fantastic (and FUN) work environment. To be successful in this role, you ll need exceptional communication skills, enjoy being surrounded by people, thrive on challenges, and continually look for opportunities to learn and inspire others. You will oversee the counter, greet and help customers, and take pride in being a Pinolo Gelato ambassador.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver professional, friendly, fun & positive customer experiences
Provide exceptional customer service, while ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
Maintain service quality control and portion sizes
Communicate with Owner, Manager, & Gelato Maker regularly
Effectively lead the shop when the shop manager is not present
Professional, FUN & positive leadership for Team Members promoting Pinolo s culture
Train, mentor, and motivate new and current team members
Manage quality control
Oversee that all gelato and coffee are appropriately prepared and served according to Pinolo s standards
Maintain the gelato case freezer organized, clean, and esthetically beautiful
Collaborate closely with the shop manager on all daily operations

Requirements
Proven customer service experience
Ability to work independently, self-starter
Strong people skills
Valid Food Handlers Card
Open availability and flexibility (including afternoons, evenings, & weekends)
Italian language skills are a bonus
Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills
